Pasquale Pistorio led the successful integration of SGS with the French semiconductor champion, Thomson Semiconducteurs, to create SGS-THOMSON Microelectronics (renamed STMicroelectronics in 1998), and its subsequent listing in 1994 on the New York Stock Exchange and the Paris Bourse, followed by the listing on the Borsa Italiana (Milan Stock Exchange) in 1998. As President and CEO of the new company, Pistorio was directly responsible for developing ST’s diverse product portfolio based on high-growth applications, as well as its worldwide network of strategic alliances. This business model proved so successful that ST is now positioned in the highest worldwide rankings of semiconductor companies. Upon his retirement as President and CEO of STMicroelectronics on March 18th, 2005, Pistorio was appointed by the Company’s Managing Board as Honorary Chairman. He serves on a number of public and private Boards and in his public service capacity maintains a special interest in promoting responsible corporate environmental practices. As a member of the United Nations Information and Communications Task Force, dedicated to bridging the Digital Divide, he helps develop proposals to attract corporate attention and commitment to this worldwide challenge.
He has achieved wide recognition for his achievements and contributions to society, with decorations including “Honorary Citizen of Singapore” by the Government of Singapore, "Officier de la Légion d'Honneur" by the President of the French Republic, "Cavaliere del Lavoro" by the President of the Italian Republic, “Ouissam Alaouite” by the Kingdom of Morocco. In November 2002 Time magazine placed him at number 1 in the “Top 25 Movers and Shakers”. He has received honorary degrees from the University of Genova, the University of Malta, the University of Pavia, the University of Catania, the University of Palermo and the University of Sannio, Benevento. |

Desai has several years of experience helping entrepreneurs in Singapore build new businesses. He was a key member of the Kent Ridge Digital Labs that helped create about twenty new high tech startups using technology developed within the labs between 1998 and 2002. The team helped these companies raise about 120 million Singapore dollars from business angels, venture capitalists and corporate investors.
Desai is a Practice Professor of Information Systems at the School of Information Systems of Singapore Management University. He is presently chairing the Singapore Management University's Business Innovations Generator, a student business incubator. In this capacity, he manages a seed fund of over three million dollars. He has established strong links between students interested in starting companies and business coaches in this capacity. He has initiated Business Idea Pitching sessions and Business Innovations Competition for students in Singapore Management University.
Desai is a member of BANSEA, a Business Angels Network based in Singapore. He is a regular speaker at innovation and entrepreneurship related conferences and events. He has been an advisor to several businesses and is presently advising XID Technologies, Tagit and Tyler Projects. He has been interacting with Upstream Ventures since 2002. |

Loudon Owen is co-founder of McLean Watson Capital. Prior to establishing McLean Watson Capital, Loudon and his partner financed and advised Softimage, a world leader in high-end 3D animation, through its growth from 4 to 250 employees, its IPO on Nasdaq in 1992, and its sale to Microsoft in 1994. Prior to that, Loudon practised corporate/commercial and securities law with a major Canadian law firm, concentrating on M&A and technology financing. He subsequently founded a corporate law firm that specialized in representing growth companies. He has served on the Boards of a range of public companies, including BPI Mutual Funds, Brookfield/BF Realty and Softimage. Loudon currently serves on the Boards of Directors of i4i, Vismand Exploration, Amplus, Ntegrator and Quantec. His pro bono activities include serving on several non-profit boards and associations. Loudon holds a BA from the University of Toronto, an LLB from Osgoode Hall, Toronto and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. |

Since 1999 Patrick Turner has been a Professor at INSEAD teaching MBA courses on acquisitions and new business creation on both the Fontainebleau and Singapore campuses. Professor Turner's career includes seven years with the UK chemical company ICI, and ten years with Levi Strauss Europe where his various postings included two years as Director of Strategic Planning, and three years as Marketing Director for Spain. In 2003 he relocated to the Singapore campus to launch INSEAD’s International Centre for Entrepreneurship. In addition to INSEAD, Professor Turner has taught in France, Spain, and South America. Aside from professional interests, his passion is classical music, and in 1999 he published a book on Elgar's "Enigma" Variations. He has a BA in Modern Languages from Oxford University, and an MBA from INSEAD. |

Enzo Torresi is Managing Partner of the American branch of myQube, based in Cupertino, CA. A pioneer in the computer industry for the past twenty eight years, Enzo has founded five companies, and specializes in fast growth, high technology ventures. Most recently, he co-founded Kerbango, the Internet radio company that was acquired by 3Com Corporation. From 1997 to 1998 he was CEO of ICAST Corporation, a software company specializing in broadcasting solutions for the Internet. In 1998, ICAST was acquired by First Virtual Communications and the ICAST brand by CMGI.
During 1995 and 1996, he was Entrepreneur In Residence at Accel Partners. In November of 1993 he co-founded and also served as Vice Chairman of Power Computing Corporation, a PC manufacturer that produced the first Macintosh clones and was then acquired by Apple Computer in 1997. From 1989 to October 1994, he served as president and CEO of NetFRAME Systems Inc., a computer manufacturer that he co-founded in 1987 which is now part of Micron Electronics Inc. In 1982 he co-founded Businessland (now owned by Siemens) and until 1988 he held various executive level positions, most recently as Vice Chairman of the Board and Senior Vice President of sales and marketing. Previously he held management positions at Olivetti, as President of the Cupertino Advanced Technology Center, the R&D facility he founded in California 1976. Enzo Torresi is currently member of the Board of various private and public companies including Telverse Communications, noHold and Socket Communications. Enzo Torresi holds a doctorate in Electronics Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute in Turin, Italy. |

Mr. Wynne, COO Singapore and Executive VP Imaging for Zecotek Medical Systems Pte. Ltd., a leading bio-photonics company, has over twenty-five years experience in international business development, venture capital, finance and operations. He was COO and CBO at MerLion Pharmaceuticals, a leading Singapore-based drug discovery company which he helped found in 2001. Previously he was Senior Vice President and a Board representative of Transpac Capital, one of Asia's oldest and largest venture capital companies. Before entering the private sector he served as a senior diplomat for Canada in Korea, Japan and Singapore, and in APEC where he served as Canada's representative to the APEC Budget and Administration Committee and as the Canadian Deputy Chair of the APEC Economic Committee. He was a co-founder of the Canadian software company Greenbook, which produced one of the first hypertext authoring tools for the Internet. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada and a Master of Arts in Public Administration & Economics from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. Mr. Wynne served several years on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Venture Capital Association and was recently re-elected to the Executive Council of the Singapore Biotech Association. |
